At the edge of textuality, what do we find? What makes text?
The Gibberish Project is about exploring the boundaries of what makes text what it is.
A text is not the locus of this project– not a singular one, nor a hypothetical one. Instead, this is about the very nature of how text itself is understood, and where it ceases to be text, and becomes instead, an image. Is there a line between interpretation and decipherment? Between sensing and decoding? Between observing and reading? If not– how would we know?
And if there is, what shape does it take?
