Miss Jeanetta Hospers
She was born on 18 February 1890 to Nicholas Hospers and Petronella Van Lewwen in Pella. Jeanetta grew up in Pella, and spent most of her life there. Sometime before 1910 she left her job as an assistant librarian to become a teacher in Pella. She married Samuel Van Vliet, brother of head librarian Carrie Van Vliet, on 1 January 1912. They had two children, Paul Hospers and Charles Dean who they raised in Pella. Jeannetta and her husband moved to Amarillo, Texas, sometime after 1930, when the census recorded them living in Pella. Jeanetta died in Amarillo, Texas on 5 May 1979. She is buried in Pella’s Oak Wood Cemetery.
