Malvern is a town in Mills County, which was established on January 15, 1851. The county wa named for Major Frederick Mills of Burlington, Iowa, who was killed in 1847 in the Mexican War. The county seat is at Glenwood. Both Malvern and Glenwood received Carnegie grants.
