Although mainframe computers had been in use on campus since the mid-1950s, the presence of computers in everyday work among faculty, staff, and students wasn’t widely felt until the 1960s. The Weeg Computing Center’s first newsletter was distributed in 1970 and noted the availability of user’s guides and programs. KWIC index, anyone?
